Introducing new foods

MAKING BODY LANGUAGE POSITIVE:

Being too assertive on insisting your pet eat a new food can make some pets go on an eating strike. Remember to use a pleasant tone and encourage them to eat the food.

HANDLING RESISTANCE:

It is important not to give up too soon! During the initial transition, do not give your pet treats or table scraps. They train us as much as we train them. Giving in to their demands only reinforces refusal behavior and makes it more difficult to make a nutritious or necessary diet change.

DIARRHEA & VOMITING

Diarrhea can come with drastic dietary changes. A good preventative is plain un-spiced pumpkin or plant enzymes. Pumpkin is a wonderful fiber source and can add or reduce moisture to stools as needed. Enzymes also help break down nutrients to better absorb them and build a healthy flora in the digestive track.
